Going live...

Has it really been that long !!

I have had a busy few weeks so here is an update:

On the 16th of February I went up to Brentwood to appear live on the Sunday Lunch show on PhoenixFM hosted by Tony Smith. We had a chat about my music and I played a couple of tracks live in the studio. If you want to have a listen to how it went then follow this link http://www.phoenixfm.com/2014/02/17/chris-robson-on-the-sunday-lunch-show/

Gig wise, I was at the Ship in Leigh-on-sea on the 26th February where I performed a short impromptu set reviving The Big Band Theory for the night, which went down well. It was a great night and some of the other performers included Justin Hazelden who did a fantastic 'acoustic punk' set and Darren Jones who never lets you down.
On the 7th March I played a set for the Friday Night music night run by Unique Sounds at The Spread Eagle in Southend, a very busy night, followed by playing a couple of tunes round the corner at Preview in the RNA club. All in all a great weekend for music.

Hopefully I will be able to post some news about some exciting opportunities over the summer soon, so watch this space...

Upcoming performances...

Just a quick update.....I have a short set tonight at the LEES which is above Soundz Studios in Southend-on-sea, then tomorrow I am going up to Brentwood to appear on the Sunday Lunch show on PhoenixFM radio. I will be talking about my music and playing a few live tracks.

Next week I will be playing a set at The Plough in Westcliff-on-sea on Wednesday night.

I'm also working on some new material at the moment and have lots of ideas whizzing around my head about forming a band again or even weirder, doing an electronic album !!

New Song in the making....old song for your pleasure

So it's the middle of an alcohol free January, and I must admit I have been neglecting the practice a bit over the last couple of weeks ( if you saw my performance last Thursday then I apologise if it was a bit ropey ). Anyway the good news is that I started writing another new song today which is called 'Jennifer Waves'. The song based around the rough story of a man on a station platform seeing off his girlfriend Jennifer who waves to him from the train as it is leaving but he doesn't see her wave, and she doesn't realise that he hasn't seen her. So she is happy in the knowledge that everything is fine and is left with good thoughts of their time together while he thinks she hasn't bothered to wave and starts reading all sorts of bad things into it.  It is still a work in progress but that's the basic premiss.

Until that song is finished, here's another video from the shoot I did the other day of my song 'The Man That I Can't Be'.........Enjoy

New Song !

Happy New Year everyone !  I haven't posted for a while...I had a couple of good gigs over Christmas, and have been trying to write some new material. A lot of my friends are going through some hard times at the moment and I that was what was on my mind when I wrote this song. It is called Deeper in the Sand and reflects the kind of hopeless situation that many people find themselves in from time to time in their lives. I do seem to channel these kinds of songs quite a bit, but as I think I have said before, I don't seem to have much control over the songs I write. Anyway, this is the video for it which was shot using a Canon 60D slr camera with a Zoom H2N microphone attached. If you want more info on the set up then leave a comment and I'll get back to you :)

There will be more videos to follow from this shoot over the next few weeks...and some exciting news about forthcoming radio play !!!!

Cheers
Chris
